You’re getting ready to say goodbye and see you later to many loved ones. I know you’re super excited to start this, you’ve been thinking about and dreaming about it for weeks and months, and at the same time many of you are feeling nervous or anxious to leave the comforts of home to meet strangers that will become your family. Hey Spring Semesters Participants! In a few weeks, you will all be together at training camp! I’m sure that it’s all starting to feel more than a little surreal. The fact that you are about to leave the country for 3 months and serve the Lord across the world is no longer a dream that could maybe happen one day…. It is a full on reality.  With goodbyes (see-you-later’s) just around the corner (or have already come), there are many opportunities for the enemy to step in and start his work on your heart and mind.  He may try to convince you that the Lord has lied to you; that God is not good and will let you down; that it’s just too much money to raise; that maybe it would just be better to stay home; that everything will fall apart if you leave; that you’ll never be able t…

Before you arrive, we want to set your expectations for what to expect when it comes to technology on your trip. We live in a connected world.  There is no way around it. We text our parents, ‘like’ a status on Facebook, Snapchat our friends, and Instagram our waffles before we ever leave the house in the morning!  Even cats have their own Twitter handles! Social media and technology can be great ways to stay in touch with people, and we realize that many of you are choosing to bring your phone on this trip.
